Comfortable in The Front

And the morning of the fourth I made oatmeal and coffee for everyone. We cleaned up and spend a few hours tidying until the others showed up. I remember that a bunch of people had said they wanted to see us. We showed the people around the house before walking Valencia Street to Market and on to the coffee shop. My friend’s brother-in-law talked about colorblindness. We got coffee and went to Patricia’s green and the ladies and I went to the shops.

On the way back an acquaintance and her mom appeared.  We hung out on the green. Then we said bye and we walked to the apartment before saying bye.  My friend stayed at the apartnet and her brother-in-law walked to Civic Center. I had I had spoken about my career up to them. After that I walked to the banks drugstore.  I had chicken, salad and cocktails with my friend.  We hung out with a few people we knew from the bike rides.

In the morning of the day that I wrote this I slept until nine and I hung out in the the living room until I had breakfast with my friend.  Later we went to visit some people up the street from the apartment for beer and ribs. They had checked with many people but found no holiday barbecue so they stayed at home. They had been only been invited to Sevastopol but hadn’t wanted to travel there.  We sat around drinking cocktails talking about our visitors before leaving a while later.

Head to Moderne Together

On the third of September I wrote that my friend and her mother were headed to the apartment from Mission Bay so I had time to go to Walgreens after stopping at the empanadaria. I got some lights and batteries then I rode to the apartment. I had 20 minutes to myself before the ladies showed up and we ate. My friend and I agreed to head to moderne together and her mom said she would hang out at the apartment.

I took a picture of my friend train and posted it. Everyone was really talkative about it. People made comments when I posted images of us on the cable car too. Later at Moderne I had the fernet flight and an absinth. My friend paid complimtents to the bar tenders on her aviation. We took a photo before we took off.

Go to GeoBeers Early

On the second of September I wrote that though I had gone straight to the train when left work the day before, the train at Millbrae was late.  I went to Walgreens at 16th before heading to the apartment where I found my friend in good spirits. I had learned on the way that she was going to see her mother.  She said she would go running and during that interval a colleague had let me know that I’d go to Geo beers early.

I rode to the farm box and then to Elixir easily.  My colleagues were there.  One was a consultant as a small firm and the other had taken a job at a analytics firm.  I was out of my element at one point so I ordered a beer and there was a guy handing out cognac so I had some of that too. We were talking about tech when my twitter friend came in. He said stuff about the hacker space and the Giants. The conversation waxed and waned but eventually we left.  I noted as I was leaving that one of my companions for the evening had left with a county professional I knew.

Me About Geo beers

On Friday the 26th I wrote that I had finished work at about 330. I took a train from Redwood City to 16th. I put money on the clipper and then rode to the apartment where my friend gave me a couple of drinks. When she left she took some pictures but just walked around. I sat on the couch and told told her she need a hobby.

I sent a lot of tweets out and people were getting back to me about Geo beers.   We had soup. I remember that the beans and other things had a strange consistency but it was good.

Eventually I turned the lights down and hung out in the bedroom till about 8 o'clock. I had whiskey and saw the roommate. We went back-and-forth between the front and the back of the house. We did dishes until about bedtime. I'm pretty sure I was asleep at 11:30.

The morning of Saturday the 27th I woke up at nine. I spent an hour and she did some stuff to prepare for visitors. A bunch of people arrived around 11. I hung out in the kitchen. Even as some left others were making snacks and they had their time with my friend. Her old classmates showed up as my riding partner and his wife were leaving. We would see each other at the reception.

After this one of the guests had some problems and I had to find batteries for some stuff.  I left about an hour later went to thrift stores to drop off some stuff and then I went to a restaurant. I also went out for coffee before heading over to the party.

I remember that the host poked his head out when I had trouble finding the place. There was plenty of bike parking. My riding partner and several other people that I knew had shown up. I saw minor celebrities and a few people I had met at the host’s previous parties were there also.

We put cute things all over our bikes that were gold colored. And when we were happy with the way our bikes looked we started the ride. I got to know several revelers and one late comer came by just about when we were leaving. At 25th and Harrison we passed two revelers’ home. Unfortunately I was picking up trash and see where they lived. We returned via Valencia and when we got to Shotwell we got off the bikes after we part.

I noted that some Twitter personalities were there. I was able to talk to the host’s people a bit. I sat with my friends and also introduced some people to one another.   The presiding personality showed up just as I was leaving and I missed him and his major pronouncement.

I went to the apartment and sat with my friend on the couch. I spent an hour wtih her and left her when she needed to figured things out. I had had a meal at the party so didn’t need to eat.  However, she had a meal then. I found her later and we had a beer before going to bed.

I woke with a start the morning of the day that I wrote this and lay in bed for an hour after that. Around 1030 my friend and I made plans to eat lunch. The roommate had gone out for a newspaper. I went to the store and got chai tea and coffee beans. I got a coffee for myself. I returned to the apartment and made a meal.

I started writing about an hour later and then we started typing and then we settled into the living room. The roommate and I had coffee and with my friend then and discussed things.  Later we made the place tidy and had dinner. When we were finished I found her in the other end of the apartment singing.

“Pirate Ship” in McCovey

On the nineteenth of August I had to give up on the JSON script but I had made some headway.  I rode the bay path and though I stopped to catch my breath I was on time because I rode fast.  I made 16th easy and my friend was at the apartment.  I tried to get some me time in but her old coworker came by so I gave up.

My buddy showed up and I got him acquainted him with everyone before he and I walked to get the farm box.  We stopped at a bar on the way back.  My riding partner let us know that he and his wife were on a date but he expressed interest in coming by.  We returned to the apartment but soon went to Willows for dinner.

I saw a waitress I knew and as soon as I mentioned a bartender I knew she started looking for another seat.  Our sandwiches were delicious.  We spent some time talking about our lives.  He told me he had bought a house in Atlanta and was quitting his job because he had gotten one job near his home.

He had come to SF just to see the place.  He told me about his friends.  He had gone with them to a Giants Game on a “Pirate Ship” in McCovey Cove.  He had spent the night at the house they shared with three others in the Outer Richmond.  We walked to another place on Mission at Duboce and watched the Giants play the Mets for a bit before settling in at the apartment.

Discussed Car Free Living

On the eighteenth I wrote that I made a stop for the bay breeze and went to RWC and 16th.  I realized that I was to meet my twitter contact later and not the next day.  At the apartment my friend and I discussed the chaos the next day with so many appointments.

I took my time, leaving late.  I rode Duboce to eighth and 16th, went through the hospital parking lot and got lost on 3rd.  I was 20 minutes late to 3rd Rail.

My contact bought me a drink and told me about his life and asked about mine.  He said his wife ran a programming concern.  He suggested I apply.  He wanted to know about how I was making life work and we discussed car free living.

I bought him a drink and got the jerky special, which comes with a tiny drink and a shot - I got the fernet.  He asked me about hex and we discussed the different things that were possible.  I shared what I knew about S2 cells and suggested he invite another contact to Geobeers.

He got me a beer and told me what he thought were the difficult parts of married life.  I told him my blogging - while mundane - was important to me.  A bit later it was time to go and when we got to Mariposa he said he would go to Geobeers and I rode away to Alameda, 15th and Julian.
