I Made a Chart.

I wrote that the day before I worked until 530 and made the 602.  I was preoccupied with eliminating the outliers on the macro graphic.  I was a little preoccupied with 1502-08 and others like it but when Joel returned at 415 or 425 I decided to just send it to David.  The ride to PHill was hurried and I was rather tired.  However, I managed well.  There was a snark on the trail and I carried the bike upstairs.  I rearranged the stuff on the train when I got on at PHill at 432.  I noted that Powell had been crowded around 515 but it is the other way around an hour later.  Hence I had no problem getting through the tunnels.

I went to Sears and returned the pants.  I taught the cashier some Chinese: how to say hurry up.  I rode up the hill and used the sidewalk.  I though at the time that the bigger pannier was being a problem witih jumping curbs.  One in George Town it had fallen off.

At Nicole’s place she was liteneing to NPR and preparing chicken tacos.  I basically explained my place in the hierarchy at work and the economics of Gas.  Nicole told me about work.  We had delicious food.  I drank too much.  We watched American Dad.  I noted that I hated to get up in the morning.

The day that I wrote this I made it to Starbucks by 507 and to BART by 511 with a paper.  The train had been consistently a minute late.  I logged on and was ready for the day by the time the tailboard had begun.  I noted that David mentioned our efforts in the meeting—length issues.  Returning to the office I started looking into PODS.  I needed a log on and open and manipulate the MAOP export.  I also noted that I needed to send more lines to David and Rick.

I made a chart:

                   Upload                     Resolution
                        ^                                  ^
PFLsßàLengthßàPODSßàLengthßàGasView

I noted that David came by to talk to me about PSEP.  He said he was going to look over it and then move forward.  He also said he would put me in touch with Paulino.  He had said not to talk to him and I said as much.  However, I also noted that I felt like I needed to revisit the issue.  I noted that Joel gave me a macro for it and that I needed to review it.

I logged into PODS (Intrepid).  I then tried to export.

I wrote that the two that I was using needed some consideration.  I was thinking that I needed to think about what I needed.  I noted that I was getting lines to compare, develop the PSEP macro, make charts and develop queries.  I thought I needed to see PODS and the MAOP export as helping to facilitate these things.  I was contemplating how to use PODS and what it would do for my other work.  I was then trying to understand what the export would do for me.  I then sketched out what I thought the macro would do to compare the two datasets (PODS and GV) and how the data would be analyzed.

I then contemplated my analysis of the MAOP data against the GV data to make certain that our production was up to snuff.  I then looked at certain groupings of data for the comparison.  I also considered how this would look from the perspective of Joel’s data.  Apparently, there was a manual procedure as well as a macro guided one.  During this period I had a lot of trouble with lines labeled 302*.  I was also very focused on the PSEP macro that David had asked for but wasn’t certain how to make it happen.  David had asked about it and I sent an email using my notes.  I noted that I didn’t have any more food in my cubicle and Ian gave me some.  I went back to the MAOP to GV comparisons and identified issues.

I read my notes for what is basically a length comparison of MAOP to GV and discovered that I had made some mistakes.  Then I wrote that I would move on to review my work on PSEP after lunch.  I asked Mat around then for direction and he said that Gordon was doing stuff on it.  He said that linear referencing was better than the way he would do it.  I had developed a “working rule” where comparison of data between versions would be based entirely upon length but I knew that the specs for each segment or feature would have to be involved.

I went on to write that the system would identify specs in the first segment based upon my hierarchy and look for items with reflect that in the PODS data.  Then the length may be compared.  I noted, however, that I wasn’t certain how the output would look since the process is fraught by conflicting ontologies.

I started a rewrite of my discussion of the MAOP to GV comparison and showed a graphic to David.  He gave me some feedback on what I didn’t need to pursue and said that when I was done I would have what he would need to continue.  I sent him and Joel my notes.  Joel said that there would be bad data in the intrepid locations and that this was alright.

I wrote down information for Barlow’s equation and the relevant CFR code.  I remember that Joel had explained a lot of this to me.

I wrote a bunch of notes and VB code then about how to build the macro that I wanted.  I also made notes about how to test a macro.  I noted that my version of the macro wasn’t working and why.

This is series chronicles my life at regular intervals. This Memo series is meant to be a retrospective of what I have written and experienced. In each of these posts I use my notes in conjunction with memory, mementos and souvenirs to create a snap shot of my life.
