Talking About POCs

I wrote that the day before I had ridden my bike to Page Street and stopped traffic until some guy moved his car near Masonic.  Kathryn was at Park Chow when I got there.  We had pizza.  We then rode to the Knockout, where I did some drinking and she connected with her buddy Adam, who was the night’s DJ.  We took photos together—it’s in my notebook.

Kathryn and I had been talking about pedestrian over-crossings (POCs) so I asked her to come with me to Potrero Hill.  We stopped by Cancun for a look at the menu (they apparently have Nachos made with Jack).  We salmon-ed Precita to Folsom and then went to Hampshire and 18th to the POC there and went to Wild Oats at 17th.  We passed AT&T Park with our thanksgiving groceries on Embarcadero and climbed from the Hyatt to her place via Sansome and Jackson.  There I made her pesto and cleaned up the cat’s various messes.

This morning we found that Charlie was cleaning the rug Kathryn had tried to clean up.  We met Jaqueline and Charlie left with her.  I took the down comforter to the cleaners and said goodbye to Kathryn.  I spent an hour at Trieste with the paper and rode to Alta and Crossover Drive.  I spent the rest of the day trying to organize my room for Thanksgiving.

This is series chronicles my life at regular intervals. This Memo series is meant to be a retrospective of what I have written and experienced. In each of these posts I use my notes in conjunction with memory, mementos and souvenirs to create a snap shot of my life.
